Profile: Gary Mansell

Signing up for the Magazine Production class with Professor Sisk was one of the best decisions of my semester. Not only did I learn more about myself as a writer and how to contact and retrieve information from interviewees, but I also was given the privilege to cover a story of interest to me. In writing the article on Dr. Ron Brown and his fascination with the way video games teach life lessons, I was very intrigued. Being an avid gamer myself, I was anxious to see what exactly he was doing with the video games and how he was going to relate it to learning. He responded to my e-mails promptly with a plethora of information, including an interview podcast, which was really helpful. I am very pleased with the outcome of the story and with the overall class.
