I had no idea what I was getting into when I joined this class. I’ve always been interested in magazine writing, so I decided to dive in headfirst. On the first day of class we started brainstorming story ideas and I realized how much work was going to be put into this class.

I was assigned the international story. My first step was to contact Veronika Lefrancois, a scholar who traveled to USC to teach about a study abroad program she is developing. She was very interesting to talk to and has quite an impressive resume.

Next I talked to Dean Charles Bierbauer about the upcoming Summer I and II course traveling to eastern Europe. I was very nervous to sit down in his office and interview him -- can you blame me? I was blown away as we talked about the trip and his experience with international media during the communist revolutions. I wish I wasn’t graduating so I could take this class, too.

I’ve learned a lot through this class and I can’t wait to see the final product. I think as a whole, we did a great job for the InterCom class.
